Hey there fellow fitness enthusiast!
I’m Steve Dooley, founder of BodyTransformation101.com and I’ve been pursuing optimal health and fitness since age 14 when I was first introduced to working out in the high school football gym (I’m now 47)…So, I’ve been playing this game for a while. Over the past 30+ years my fitness goals have changed from time-to-time, and I’ve learned A LOT of what works and what doesn’t in regards to dieting, nutrition, and training of all sorts. And, I’m excited to share some of this experience with you!
My Personal Fitness Journey
My journey started out in the high school gym. As a football player, we focused primarily on strength and performance training throughout my high school years. Right after high school, I got in with the “wrong” crowd, and ended up abusing drugs which caused me to go from a lean and strong athlete to a skinny and weak person at age 20.
Thankfully, I turned my life around, and at age 21 I got hired at the local fire department as a firefighter/EMT.
At this point I also regained my passion for fitness. In fact, throughout my 23 year firefighting career I became sort of obsessive about it.
I became a Paramedic, and was fascinated with bio-chemistry and how the metabolism works. The medical training I received just furthered my appetite and fascination to learn more about how the body works from both a nutritional standpoint and a physiological standpoint.
I always had a dream of “getting a six-pack” or at least sub-10% body fat that I pursued until recently when I achieved that goal in 2022.
During my past 20+ year mission to get lean and fit, I learned a ton of information, and I did just about every diet and exercise program out there from Cross-Fit, to Keto, to Paleo to The Whole-30… you name it. I even did some extreme stuff like a grapefruit diet and cyclical dieting.
During my Firefighting career I became a Captain, and I became a Peer Fitness Trainer – I trained other Firefighters. For this I was a certified personal trainer, and I’ve even worked part-time outside of the FD training civilian clients as well.
I’ve been retired since 2020 – right when COVID hit us all.
In the 12 months following retirement, my weight ballooned from a muscular and pretty fit 210 lbs (I’m 5″10″) up to a borderline obese 225 lbs. I was not nearly as active, but I was still eating like I did while working at the F.D.
That was compounded by COVID restrictions and zero gym access for about a year.
Something had to change.
I finally reached a breakpoint mentally and physically and made the decision to get back in shape once and for all.
So, I decided that I was gonna have to do this weight loss thing from home, and I was going to succeed, NO MATTER WHAT.
And that led me down a huge rabbit hole of “Home Gyms” and “Home Workout Programs” and of course committing to proper diet and nutrition.
Fast forward to June 2022: I dropped over 60 lbs of fat, and went from an unhealthy, lethargic, and depressed 225 lbs to a lean, energetic and confident 157 lbs!
I don’t say this to brag or anything, but rather let you know that it is possible to do this. It is possible to get lean and fit, no matter what your circumstances may be right now, no matter what age you are currently, and that YOU can do it!

Since retiring from the Fire Dept. I have been working as a Realtor as my kids are still in school, and my wife also works as a Registered Nurse in the local ICU (she endured COVID seeing hundreds die from it). While real estate has been a lucrative venture, my passion has always been centered in fitness and serving people.
So, I decided that I was gonna pursue my passion, and focus on helping people achieve their fitness goals. This is what has led me to creating this website.
I simply want to help as many people as possible achieve their fitness goals.
THE GOAL OF THIS SITE
So, I’ve created this site with the goal of reaching thousands of people achieve their fitness goals. Having a home gym was instrumental (a blessing in disguise) in my success at getting lean and losing the weight.
Every day I was reminded to crush my workout as the equipment was sitting right there.
And, as you may have experienced, when you workout you feel better, and you’re more inclined to eat properly. They have as synergistic effect.
So, I simply want to share information and offer any help I can to you here.
Whatever your goals, whether you need to lose 100 lbs, just get back into shape, or simply to be consistent with your workouts to feel amazing every day, that is awesome!
